Serco is reported to have made a strong move into the business process outsourcing market by buying a majority stake in the leading Indian operator InfoVision, paying $75m (£50m). In december the group joined the FTSE 100 list.

Serco Group plc, an international facilities management service information company, has completed the acquisition of SI International, Inc, a provider of information services, technology, and network solutions to the US.

SI International will be combined with Serco's existing North American business and will enhance its ability to deliver integrated solutions to the $290 billion US federal government services market.Serco has a group that services facilities managers, which focuses on IWMS, CAFM, CMMS and other enabling technologies. This acquisition is expected to complement those technologies and facilitate Serco's ability to offer them to various US government agencies.
