The credit crunch has given Dubai investors plenty of good reason for concern in recent days, but there are still deals to be done especially in the FM arena.Following last summer's news that fit-out and FM specialist Modus had established a local operation comes the announcement that it has won a major contract at the new Al Jazira Club and Stadium.The deal, due to start in February, is worth UAE Dhs 3.4m (£564,000) and will see Modus field a team of 50 for the maintenance of primary technical services.

Hochtief signs FM deal with Bahrain Airport

The Bahraini Airport Company has signed a Memorandum of Under-standing with HOCHTIEF Facility Management to create the joint venture. The new company, HOCHTIEF Facility Mana-gement Bahrain Airport, with its 120 employees will take over responsibility for all technical systems, energy management and infrastructure at the airport, from March 1 next year. The contract is planned to have a term of at least 15 years and is worth an estimated 70 million euros ($89.6m) in the first five years.
