i-FM net TWFM motors ahead with Highways Agency 01/07/2009 Taylor Woodrow Facilities Management has secured an extension to 2011 on its existing contract with the Highways Agency. The contract, valued at £3.4m per annum, covers provision of FM services at seven Regional Control Centres and 32 Traffic Officers’ outstations.The buildings incorporate IT and communication equipment in state-of-the-art video control rooms for both the Agency and the police. i-FM net Social housing market still going strong 01/12/2009 Two of the leading players in the UK market have reported big wins and continued confidence in future demand.Connaught has landed a five-year contract with Norwich City Council. This comes with an option to extend for a further five years and is worth up to £250m over the full term. The deal is Connaught's broadest multi-service contract win to date. It encompasses services from the social housing, compliance and environmental divisions.Other recent wins include a four-year £28m integrated service contract with Yorkshire Housing, a five-year £25m planned works contract with Plymouth Community Housing and a five-year £31m vegetation management contract Central Networks, the electricity distribution company.Meanwhile, Mears has revealed details of new contracts across all three of its operating divisions totaling more than £200m. These include social housing contracts amounting to £93m – a figure that, with extensions, could add up to £180m. Carillion i-FM net Carillion group lands extended RAF deal 01/03/2009 Defence Estates has appointed CarillionEnterprise (to take over from Serco) on a four-year multi-activity contract at RAF Spadeadam, Cumbria. CarillionEnterprise is a joint venture formed by the two support services companies in 2005 to deliver the Regional Prime Contract Central. This covers services including the maintenance of built assets, infrastructure and facilities management. Eli Lilley Premises and Facilites Management Elyo to build and operate Olympic energy centre 01/08/2008 The contract to build, finance and operate the energy centre was awarded to Elyo, a subsidiary of GDF SUEZ Energy Services, in July. Interserve i-FM net Interserve awarded £24m MOD contract renewal 01/08/2009 Interserve has been awarded a contract extension worth up to £24 million by Defence Estates, part of the Ministry of Defence in the Falkland Island and Ascension Island.Under the two-year contract extension, Interserve will continue to deliver facilities management services in the Falkland Islands and Ascension Island. The services will include estate maintenance, power generation, water production, sewerage treatment and disposal, waste management and grounds maintenance. Interserve has been delivering support services to the MOD in the Falklands since 1998. In 2004, Interserve was awarded a new Infrastructure Support Provider (ISP) contract with an expanded remit that covers Ascension Island.

Interserve stated that the contract represents a further integration of HSBC's support services functions.As per the agreement that has a potential two-year extension, Berkshire, UK-based Interserve will deliver facilities services at more than 1,600 retail and 120 office sites across UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.Interserve said it has undertaken a complex handover including the transfer, under TUPE regulations, of more than 2,000 staff from various incumbent suppliers and also from HSBC. Interserve also added that the deal is one of the largest of such contracts in the UK.The responsibilities of Interserve include the delivery of services to the headquarters of HSBC group in Canary Wharf, in addition to an estate which includes ATM cash machines, retail branches, commercial centres, offices, data centres, sports, social facilities and training centres. These services went live on November 1, 2009. It was further announced that Johnson Controls is now the FM supplier of choice for Barclays properties globally. Johnson Controls has been providing services for Barclays in Spain and Italy since 2008.
